Heat pumps in Morehead City fail differently than a furnace or straight AC — a stuck reversing valve, an incomplete defrost cycle, or auxiliary heat that won't kick in all need specific diagnostic steps. We're trained specifically for heat pumps, not just general repair.
General HVAC techs are often less confident with heat pumps since the reversing valve, defrost board, and aux heat strips don't exist on a standard split system. We test each component specifically, since a heat pump issue in January often has nothing in common with the same symptom in July.
Specialized knowledge for specialized equipment.

We test the physical heating elements and the control logic that decides when to fire them, since a fault in either one produces the exact same symptom.
